J.P. Morgan, The Unknown Comic, & Gene Gene the Dancing Machine

"Comedy Central" has announced that it is bringing back that paragon of entertainment, The Gong Show. The new version will be hosted by Dave Atell.

I know we, as Americans, have done a lot of wrong in this world, but this is truly cruel and unusual punishment. For those too young to remember this debacle in television history, I am including a mildly painful clip. For the masochists in the crowd, head over to YouTube and watch the hardcore stuff.

I love me some Gong show, now if they would bring back Colin Quinn and MTV's Remote Control I would be content.

Let me know when they bring back "My Mother The Car". Then I'll know that Comedy Central has finally become a viable station.

I was just reading about this. One of the episodes has a girl shooting darts from her naught place.

Edgy.

So, what...you were just sitting around scraping the bottom of the entertainment barrel and kept on digging? Oh, well...at least there are people out there who sing worse than I do. I did miss Gene, Gene, the Dancing Machine, though.

As if American Idol, America's Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, and all those others weren't bad enough, now the Gong Show is coming back? Oy vey. I think this makes it official: I'm giving up telly all together now.

I loved the Gong Show as a kid...especially "the Pointless Sisters".
